We are continuing to update our website and will be adding new content on a regular basis. Please view our About Us page for more information about Independent Medical.
iMedEquip, LLC, more commonly known as Independent Medical Equipment or “IME”, is the largest Hospice-only Durable Medication Equipment Company in the state of Alabama, while also servicing West Georgia and Southern Tennessee. Our Team is ready, willing and able to support its patients and physicians 24-hours per day, 365 days per year, by providing medical equipment to Hospice patients needing end-of-life care.
IME is a process driven company devoted to managing customer service from every aspect of a transaction. Our technicians have a true understanding of end-of-life care and are compassionate, understanding, and trained to handle any situation. They arrive on time, and not only deliver the equipment, but ensure (1) it is properly set up, (2) the caregivers are trained on its use, and (3) everything is functioning properly. Our Coordination Team ensures that the orders are received, routed properly, and arrive at a time convenient for our families. We are committed to seeing that when a patient is discharged, that they are back at home within 2 hours.
One thing that sets IME apart from its competitors is its process driven systems which include its use of some of the most advanced and cutting edge technology available. IME begins by using “DME Track” with each Hospice provider, at no additional charge. DME Track allows for these providers to check on billing, track equipment, see order histories, and more in real time. Then IME is able to track its delivery times with Nextraq, a fleet tracking and management system, utilized to give real-time updates (every 30 seconds) on all delivery trucks using GPS tracking. This allows for IME to provide the most up-to-date information on when new equipment or supplies will arrive. In addition, IME only uses the best equipment available. Reputable companies such as Philips Respironics, or Drive Medical, are used, and all equipment is less than 3 years old at any given time.
Our IME family is passionate about end-of-life care and continually supports philanthropic efforts that are geared toward Hospice and its services. Each year we assist in numerous local charitable efforts to provide as much support for Hospice as possible, including an often overlooked aspect of end-of-life- care which is bereavement camps for children who are dealing with the loss of a parent or loved one. We also make every effort to allow our patients to complete their final wishes or “bucket list” in their final days. This includes arranging for additional or different equipment to make certain tasks, trips, or memories possible.
As you can probably tell, IME is
passionate about providing support to Hospice and its patients. We recognize that a loved one’s final days
are sensitive for family members, but deserve to be filled with as much meaning
and support as possible. From providing
additional equipment or supply refills, to setting up and training the
caregivers on how to use it, to tracking its every phase, IME is there every
step of the way. We understand the
stress associated with end-of-life care and the corresponding decisions
associated with making a loved one’s last days as meaningful as possible, and
we would be honored to do our part of relieving some of the stress, by getting
the items you need in a timely manner.
